Great Lakes Nature Photography

This gallery contains a number of images that I captured during a very impromptu trip back to Manistee County and my old home town of Kaleva, during the Memorial Day Holiday in 2015. Kaleva was my home from 1974 until 1981. It was a very special place, and for so many reasons, not the least of which were some really great friendships and the wonderful Finnish culture that was still in evidence at that time. The old saying "you can never go home" isn't true .... you just drive there. Forcing yourself to make the trip, though, is tough, as is dealing with the memories of those departed. Change is inevitable; and, boy, has Kaleva changed since I left 34 years ago.
