Mackinac Bridge from Bridge View Park
I live in awe of the Mackinac Bridge. As someone who has studied the complex endeavor that brought this amazing object into being, I am sometimes tempted to ponder the relevant matters of engineering, or construction, or economic impact, or the sheer magnificence of the human accomplishment. Mostly, though, I am fascinated by the graceful geometry and symmetry, and moved by an intangible sense of calm that is constant, whether on a summer day, or during the worst winter blizzard.
