Golden Glade
When the intensity of fall color reaches near-peak, Aspen forests really become quite beautiful.
Aspen trees seem to transition from bright green to bright yellow before their leaves drop for the year. As sunlight filters through the golden canopy, all things below are bathed in a most pleasant, amber glow.
This stand of trees in Upper Michigan's Menominee County provides an excellent example of the phenomenon.
