Peonies are some of the most beautiful of the world's ornamental flowers. I have pleasant memories of Peonies blooming in the spring that go back to my childhood, as my mother and grandmother had many of them planted around their southern Michigan homes. In those memories, ants seem to be omnipresent, so I chose to include this image of a Northern Wisconsin Peony on the site, complete with ant. If you're interested, Peonies have a role in Greek mythology (I'll leave it to you to track that down at your convenience).
